Marta Reuter

I have a Ph.D. in Political Science from Humbolt University Berlin. The main focus of my research is on the broadly understood process of transnationalization, and its different implications for civil society. I am interested both in the ways in which transnationalization affects civil society actors at the organizational level, and in the organizations as active actors that themselves contribute to further transnationalization.

After having in 2006 defended my doctoral thesis on transnational non-governmental networks in the Baltic Sea Area I worked for some time as researcher and teacher at Södertörn University in Stockholm. Since Spring 2009 I am a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Political Science at Stockholm University. My post-doc project, funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, is concerned with the extent to which the transnationalisation and Europeanisation processes affect the way civil society organisations in Europe define, and relate to, their constituencies. The project is affiliated with the TRANSDEMOS research program at Stockholm University. I also collaborate in several contexts with the researchers tied to the Civil Society Research Program at SSE.

Besides my research I regularly devote time to the dissemination of knowledge on civil society to various stakeholders both inside and outside of the academia. Below are some of my commitments:
